CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — The people have spoken, and InfoWest recently took home a handful of elite honors in this year’s Best of Southern Utah contest. The local company known as “The Internet People” won medals in four categories: gold for customer service and silver for internet provider, telecom and community partner.

As “The Internet People” in Southern Utah, the experts at InfoWest keep customers connected and moving forward into the future. They’re also dedicated to giving back to the communities they serve.

“It’s humbling to be recognized because we all love what we do here,” said Josh Kaneversky, director of marketing for InfoWest. “It’s a testament to the great work we do every day.”

Getting Southern Utah online

From the early days of dial-up to the future of fiber, InfoWest has evolved, adapted and remained on the cutting edge of internet technology. They’ve been serving communities across Southern Utah since 1994 and continue to reinvest heavily into their network to provide gigabit speeds and reliability supported by friendly, efficient customer service.

InfoWest offers connectivity you can count on for all your devices. The company’s internet plans, which include high-speed wireless internet, fiber and FiberWave, are faster than ever before, with no data caps, no bandwidth metering and no hidden fees. InfoWest also provides VoIP internet-based phone services as well as home and business alarm systems.

Sweeping awards across the state

InfoWest employs over 100 Utahns, which means the company is big enough to offer the speeds and resources of a nationwide internet provider yet small enough to care about every customer. Kaneversky said InfoWest is especially proud of earning the gold medal for customer service because it represents a true team effort, and because the category includes a wide range of businesses.

InfoWest employees interact with customers in numerous ways every day, from installing new service to troubleshooting connectivity problems.

“It’s not an award you can win based on one good day of customer service,” he added. “You have to do it day in and day out. Our team works hard to make the internet the best it can be for their friends, family and everyone in Southern Utah.”

Along with the Best of Southern Utah honors, InfoWest also won Best of State in the telecommunications category for 2023. While Best of Southern Utah award winners are determined based on popular vote, Best of State nominees are evaluated by a panel of judges based on their ability to excel in their endeavors, use innovative approaches or methods and contribute to a better quality of life.

InfoWest loves giving back

There’s no substitute for the connection you get from a homegrown company, and InfoWest truly cares about the communities they serve. They’ve donated backpacks to children in need across Southern Utah and the Moapa Valley and were named “Business of the Year” in 2022 by Root for Kids. Multiple employees serve on local nonprofit boards and participate in planning meetings for great events around town.

InfoWest also is inspiring the next generation of forward-thinking professionals through guest lectures at Utah Tech University and Dixie Technical College as well as sponsorships of robotics competitions, code camps and STEM camps.

“We don’t do it to get awards,” Kaneversky said. “We do these things because we care about the cities and towns we live in.”
