‘Universe unfolded’: Discover high-vibration gifts and intuitive healing at St. George crystal shop

ST. GEORGE — With a range of high-vibration gifts and intuitive healing sessions, just one step into this shop will awaken your senses to a new world of energy and aroma.

“People walk in and ask what we’re burning,” Awakened Soul owner Joni Simmons said. “At least one a day, I swear. But most of the time, it’s nothing. It’s just a combination of all the goodness in here.”

The metaphysical shop Awakened Soul features a wide array of items including crystals, rocks, fossils and gems, along with incense, art and unique gifts. Locally-made goods such as art, stickers, teas and jewelry are also available.

“We offer all the high-vibe stuff,” Awakened Soul owner Joni Simmons said. “We just love the community. We love being downtown and being able to create a space that’s just beautiful and has all these amazing things.”

In addition to tangible items for purchase, the shop offers healing sessions, sound baths, full moon and new moon ceremonies, drum circles, and other experiences.

Simmons is a certified Reiki Master and experienced instructor, offering Reiki courses and  Seraphim teachings focused on the highest angelic energies. She also provides ACCESS Consciousness Bars sessions to release false belief systems. In addition, she facilitates sound healing and integrates various healing modalities into each session. All her treatments are conducted under a crystal light bed, enhancing the overall healing experience.

Her “Awakened Soul Session” is a comprehensive experience that begins with Simmons guiding clients through sound therapy. She then activates several Access Bars to release identified false belief systems. Following this, she uses light and bodywork techniques to remove stagnant energy and release emotions that need to be freed.

How it all began

With a growing interest in natural healing, Simmons began meditating, which elevated her vibrations and expanded her consciousness.

“Things just start showing up,” she said. “Once you start following that, more and more start coming in. And it’s so cool.”

Ten years ago in St. George, she started offering spiritual sessions and selling crystals from her home. During this time, she took numerous classes and attended spiritual events in Las Vegas. At one of these events, she discovered a shop that she immediately fell in love with.

“I was just like, Oh my gosh, I want to own a shop like this,” she said. “I want to be able to offer the events I keep going to Vegas for and bring people into my space so I can share all of this with the community. And it’s like the universe unfolded with that.”

In March 2016, she opened Awakened Soul on 100 East, marked by a prominent Buddha statue outside. The community’s reaction ranged from intrigued to slightly puzzled by this type of shop opening in St. George. Two years later, she acquired Downtown Yoga, where she remained until further expansion allowed her to host more events with fellow practitioners. These events included Kirtan, a high-vibration mantra music gathering, sound baths and other women’s events.

When the downtown yoga building she was leasing was sold, they relocated to Coral Canyon for a year before securing the shop’s new location on Main Street nearly two years ago. While the new space doesn’t have room for a yoga studio, Simmons said the energy and enthusiasm of their offerings have continued to thrive.

“It’s more of a passion for me and I love sharing the things that I love with everyone,” she said about yoga. “So it’s kind of sad to not have it. I’m kind of waiting for the universe to unfold for that.”

For the past 35 years, Simmons has balanced owning and running both Awakened Soul and The Key Man Locksmith. Her daughter Savanah has stepped in at Awakened Soul, taking on the roles of manager and marketing director. Her position infuses fresh energy and new ideas into the shop. She loves meeting diverse people and crafting the shop’s unique and inviting interior appearance.

“I like that when people come in, and if they don’t buy something, they’re like, ‘I just feel better leaving,” Savanah Simmons said. “And that’s all that matters.”

Self-Mastery Coach and Wellness Disrupter Diana Denman offers intuitive healing sessions at Awakened Soul. She’s been performing spiritual healing for almost 30 years and has dedicated the last five years of her practice to Awakened Soul. During her sessions, she engages in heartfelt conversations with her clients before guiding them to lie on the table, where she skillfully opens their energy channels.

“Whatever we are guided to do, we do,” Denman said. “There’s not one session that’s alike.”

She also crafts jewelry, teas, oils and other artisanal products, all available for purchase inside the shop.
